On a particularly cool evening in September, Divas Opera performed for a live audience of 97 people in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic on the rooftop patio of the Marriott Hotel Downtown on historic Stephen Ave.. They were one of the only classical vocal groups to perform live during the pandemic in Alberta. Adhering to extremely strict precautions and working closely with Alberta Health Services, Divas Opera performed/produced an evening that resulted in absolutely 0 cases of Covid-19 and 0 instances of community transmission. An inspiring evening was had by all, and the show did, indeed, go on. Carlos Foggin joined the Divas on the piano.

Divas - A Night at the Opera
Cancelled due to Covid-19
A Night at the Opera - Back By Popular Demand
March 14th, 2020 - Lethbridge
March 15th, 2020 - High River
Carrying on their momentum from their debut in 2019, Divas Opera had planned and rehearsed for 2 follow up performances of their 'A Night at the Opera' concert. Being fully rehearsed and ready to go with pianist Bente Hansen, the Divas had promoted and nearly sold out both performances of their tour. Unfortunately, timing was not on their side, as the first restrictions of the oncoming Covid-19 pandemic were announced in Alberta on March 12th, 2020. Having the health and safety of their audience and performers as one of their top priorities, Divas Opera made the decision to cancel both performances. This was the first cancellation that both Kathleen and Barbara had ever made in their careers. They hope to return to both venues when it is safe for everyone.
